In 1995, Mark Weader bought his first duplicator machine and started carving stocks for local gun builders. Working full-time as a machinist for the Lozier Corporation, Mark carved stocks in his shop most mornings before heading off to work second shift. For nearly 30 years, Mark has continued to shape and inlet all kinds of stocks in his shop in McClure, PA.
In 2024, Jack's Mountain Laminates began offering laminated gunstock blanks from Rutland Plywood Corp. This was an exciting opportunity, and the first time Rutland laminates were available for retail sale since the Rutland factory burned in 2014.
For many years Don Stith was well-known for his work on rimfire benchrest stocks and muzzleloaders. Unfortunately, on July 11, 2022, Don passed away at the age of 82.
For the past 25 years, Don had his stock shaping and inletting done here at Jack's Mountain Stock Company and left his collection of stock patterns to Mark Weader when he passed.
As customers seeking custom stocks learn of Don's passing, we want them to know the Rimfire Benchrest Stocks they purchased from Don were shaped and inlet here and Mark will continue to produce those 95% inlet stocks as long as customers need them.
While Mark has patterns for numerous actions and styles of stocks, he is also able to duplicate customer's stocks if they provide an acceptable pattern. Please contact Mark to discuss options if you have a stock you would like Mark to duplicate.
